SEP seeks dismissal of injunction against LEEN; recent modifications include extended hours and meals

#SecretaríaDeEducaciónPública.- The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) requested, through its Legal Affairs Unit, the dismissal of the amparo lawsuit filed by the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) against the program The School is Ours (LEEN), arguing that it is no longer relevant, once the recent modifications to the Rules of Operation include the benefits of extended hours and food service.

After the publication of Agreement 05/02/22, in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on May 8, 2022, which issued the LEEN Operating Rules for this year’s fiscal year, the PRD, in its capacity as plaintiff, requested that such regulations be declared null and void and ordered its provisional suspension.

However, the Second District Court in Administrative Matters in Mexico City denied the provisional suspension requested by Jesús Zambrano Grijalva and Ariadna Díaz Contreras, in their capacity as president and general secretary of the PRD, respectively.
